Services & Pricing

NFORMED brings together learning, mentoring, training, consultancy and advocacy.

My work is shaped by professional experience, lived experience and many years of working with and alongside children, young people, families and professionals.

I don’t believe that one approach will work for everybody. Whether I am working with a child, a parent or an organisation, I want to understand the person or situation in front of me and work from there.

NFORMED Learning & Mentoring

I offer individual tuition and mentoring for children and young people.

A child does not need to be Neurodivergent to work with me, although much of my experience is with Neurodivergent children and young people, those who have experienced disruption to their education, and children who may need a more flexible or relationship-led approach to learning.

I am particularly interested in supporting children and young people who are home educated, receiving EOTAS or other education outside school, or whose circumstances mean that conventional education is not currently working for them.

Some children are ready to begin with formal learning straight away. Others may need time to build trust, confidence and a relationship with a new adult first.

We can start wherever they are.

Specialist Tuition

£50 per hour

I offer individually planned tuition based on where the learner is now rather than where they are expected to be simply because of their age or year group.

A particular strength of my work is assessment and analysis. I am experienced in identifying what a learner already understands, recognising gaps or misconceptions that may be getting in the way, and working out what needs to happen next.

This can be just as important for a child who is finding aspects of learning difficult as it is for a learner who needs greater depth or challenge.

I also have considerable experience supporting children whose access to learning may be affected by executive-function difficulties, working-memory demands or cognitive overload. I adapt learning so that unnecessary barriers do not prevent a child from showing what they understand or developing new skills.

Equally, I am comfortable working with learners who need greater challenge. Tuition may therefore involve identifying and filling gaps, consolidating understanding, building confidence, extending learning or providing greater depth, depending on the individual.

I take a stage-not-age approach. Age and year group can be useful information, but they do not tell us everything about what a child understands or what they are ready to learn next.

Learning can be flexible, creative and interest-led while still having clear educational purpose and progression. Depending on the learner, this might involve more traditional teaching, practical activities, conversation, games, projects, writing, problem-solving or a combination of approaches.

The hourly fee includes individual preparation and planning, appropriate learning resources, ongoing informal assessment and review, the tuition session itself, and brief feedback to parents or carers about progress, observations and possible next steps.

More substantial written assessments or reports, attendance at meetings and significant liaison with other professionals can be arranged separately.

I can also support learners preparing for selective-entry assessments, including 11+, where this is appropriate to the learner and fits within my current availability.

Flexible tuition block

Families wanting ongoing support can choose to purchase four tuition sessions for £190.

These are session credits rather than a requirement to attend on four consecutive weeks and can be arranged flexibly, subject to availability.

Mentoring & Relationship-Led Support

£40 per hour

Not every child or young person is ready for formal tuition.

Sometimes the first step is simply getting to know somebody new, developing confidence around another adult, exploring interests together or having positive experiences without an immediate academic expectation.

Mentoring sessions are shaped around the individual and their interests. They might involve conversation, gaming, creativity, storytelling, music, shared projects or other activities that give us opportunities to connect and build confidence.

For some young people, mentoring may be valuable in its own right.

For others, it can provide a gentle bridge towards learning, working with a tutor, or eventually feeling more comfortable engaging with another professional or education provision.

Where appropriate, mentoring and tuition can also overlap naturally. A child does not have to move suddenly from “relationship building” to “learning”, because learning can emerge through the relationship itself.

Mentoring is not counselling or therapy.

The hourly fee includes preparation where needed, the session itself and brief feedback to parents or carers.

Flexible mentoring block

Families wanting ongoing support can choose to purchase four mentoring sessions for £150.

Again, these are flexible session credits rather than a requirement for a child to attend on four consecutive weeks.

Small-Group Learning

I am also developing opportunities for small-group learning, usually for between 2 and 4 children or young people, either online or from my home.

These sessions may be particularly suitable for home-educated learners, children receiving education outside school, or those who would value opportunities to learn and collaborate with others without the demands of a larger group or conventional classroom environment.

Small-group learning might involve collaborative projects, practical activities, discussion, problem-solving, creativity or shared interests, depending on the children involved.

Groups will be kept deliberately small so that individual needs, communication styles and capacity can still be considered.

Small-group availability and pricing will be confirmed separately.

Flexible Booking & Fluctuating Capacity

I understand that a child’s capacity can change very quickly.

For some of the children and young people I work with, including those with a PDA profile, anxiety, health needs or other fluctuating needs, it may genuinely not be possible to know in advance whether a session will feel accessible on a particular day.

I do not want families to feel that they need to pressure a child into attending simply because a session has been booked.

Sessions can therefore be booked flexibly, subject to availability, or a regular time can be agreed where this is helpful.

If a regular weekly slot becomes difficult to access consistently, we can review the arrangement together and consider whether flexible booking would work better.

Where appropriate, a planned tuition session may also be adapted – for example, by reducing demands or moving towards mentoring – rather than expecting a child to engage in learning that is not accessible to them that day.

Full booking and cancellation terms will be provided before sessions begin.

As a small independent service, there may also occasionally be times when I need to rearrange a session because of illness, emergency or unavoidable caring responsibilities. I will always give as much notice as reasonably possible, and any session I cancel will be rearranged or refunded.

Where Sessions Take Place

At present, learning and mentoring sessions can take place online or from my family home in the BCP area.

I do not currently work from a separate tuition centre. My resources are based at home, and I have access to both indoor learning spaces and a garden, which means sessions can be flexible and informal.

Depending on the child, their preferences and what we are doing, we may work at a table, in a more relaxed space or make use of the garden for practical, creative or outdoor learning.

I appreciate that coming into somebody else’s home may not feel comfortable or accessible for every child or young person. Online sessions are therefore also available, and we can think together about which option is likely to work best.

As this is a family home, there may occasionally be another member of my household elsewhere in the property, although they are not involved in the service or in sessions with learners.

Unfortunately, I am not currently able to travel to learners or offer sessions in neutral community venues.

I do not publish my home address online. Location details will be shared privately with families where home-based sessions are agreed.

Daytime & Term-Time Availability

My current availability is primarily during the school day and school term.

This can make NFORMED Learning particularly suitable for home-educated children and young people, those receiving EOTAS or other education outside school, and learners whose circumstances mean that daytime tuition or mentoring is appropriate.

Limited other arrangements may occasionally be possible, but I am not currently building my service around regular evening or weekend tuition.

Before We Begin

I offer a free 15–20 minute introductory conversation with a parent or carer before sessions are booked.

This gives us an opportunity to talk briefly about your child or young person, what you are looking for and whether I might be a suitable person to support them.

The introductory conversation is not a full educational consultation or assessment. If you would like more detailed advice about your child’s learning, education or support needs, this can be arranged separately.

Once we begin working together, I will keep parents or carers appropriately updated about progress, observations and emerging next steps.

Training

I develop and deliver training around PDA, autism, SEND and neurodivergence for parents, professionals, schools, tutors, provisions and other organisations.

My training draws on professional knowledge, lived experience and many years of working with and alongside Neurodivergent children, young people, adults and families.

PDA remains a particular area of interest and expertise.

I want people to leave my training not simply knowing more, but thinking differently about the person in front of them.

Organisational Training

My core training can be delivered as a general programme or adapted where appropriate to reflect the needs, context and experience of a particular organisation or audience.

Training is currently available online, with limited face-to-face delivery available locally.

Live online organisational training — from £495

Face-to-face organisational training — from £650

Face-to-face training is currently available only to selected organisations within the local area. Travel and any additional expenses will be agreed in advance.

Where a client needs substantial adaptation, additional consultancy or an entirely bespoke session, this will be discussed and quoted separately.

Supporting resources may be included depending on the training package. These may include participant handouts, selected presentation material or supporting documents.

Relevant NFORMED ebooks may also be included within, or added to, particular training packages.

Materials supplied as part of training remain the intellectual property of NFORMED Consulting and are provided for the agreed use. Materials may be personalised or watermarked for the organisation receiving them.

Wider distribution, reproduction, recording or reuse of materials for the delivery of training requires prior agreement.

Training sessions may not be recorded without prior written permission.

My training is not currently CPD accredited, although CPD accreditation and self-directed NFORMED courses are part of the ongoing development of the service.

Over time, I also intend to offer more training that can be accessed independently and completed at the learner’s own pace.

Consultancy & Advocacy

I work with parents, carers, professionals, schools, provisions and organisations around SEND and neurodivergence.

This might involve helping a parent make sense of what is happening for their child, thinking through support and reasonable adjustments, looking at barriers to accessing education, reviewing practice or resources, or helping professionals to look again at something that perhaps isn’t working.

I can also provide advocacy and support to families navigating education and SEND systems.

Consultancy for organisations might include reviewing resources or practice, contributing a Neurodivergent and SEND perspective to a project, or working collaboratively around a particular area of development.

Because this work can vary considerably depending on what is needed, consultancy and advocacy are quoted individually.

Books & Resources

I write and develop books and resources around Neurodivergence, SEND and education.

My published work includes Understanding PDA: For Kids & Grown Ups, with further books, educational resources, recorded content and training materials in development.

I hope to make more of these resources available directly through the website, alongside self-directed training and other learning materials.

Not Sure What You Need?

Sometimes it is obvious whether tuition, mentoring, training or consultancy is the right starting point. Sometimes it isn’t.
